The Process of Making Two-Level Paving Blocks

We have written about the process of making paving blocks, and as a variation, we write the process of making two-level paving blocks. This is important because the process of making two-level paving blocks is a variation that can increase durability, material efficiency and cost. Two-level paving blocks also enhance the beauty of the production of paving blocks.

The process of making two-level paving blocks is to make paving blocks with two different density levels. We distinguish these paving blocks from being paving block body and paving block heads. We need the same materials and equipment when making paving blocks. The process of making two-level paving blocks is also similar to making a previous paving block. The process of making two-level paving blocks will produce a harder and smoother upper surface. The upper surface is harder because it faces friction and collision with other objects. This will make the two-level paving block stronger.

Equipments and Materials

Equipment and materials remain the same. You need some materials and equipment, among others: Molds that fit the shape you want (rectangles, hexagons, or other shapes chosen), Swat the mixture of ingredients to compact (flat shape and according to the size of the mold), Sand has been filtered and washed (so that the sand is free of mud and can bond strongly in the mixture of materials), good cement, fly ash (if material is available around the site), and water.

The Process of Making Two-Level Paving Blocks

You make the main mixture of raw material for paving blocks first. Mixing cement and sand with a ratio of 1: 5 for the Paving Body and 1: 3 for the Paving Head (you can choose a comparison composition according to your wishes, for example, 1: 4 or 1: 6). The composition of the constituent materials will determine the compressive strength of the produced paving blocks. You can add fly ash if the material is available. To make a paving head, you should stir the mixture completely evenly.

Add enough water to the main ingredient mixture. You should not be too wet in adding water. You can check it by holding the mixture of ingredients. If you feel that it is sufficiently strong, then you must stop adding water.

Add the mixture to the paving head into the mold first, then add the mixture to body the paving block into the mold. Close the mold and the lock of the printer. Press the print lever as hard as possible. The pressure strength level will determine the strength of the paving block in this process. After that, you can open the lid and then slowly lift the printout.

You can put the two-level paving block in the shade and then release it from the base plate. We need to put down and let the printed paving blocks dry out. After a few days, the two-level paving block prints will dry out. And you can use the printed paving block after a few days and the printout is completely dry.
